Big White is a fantastic resort for learning to ski and snowboard in the powder as they have over 750cms of the fluffy, white stuff falling every year! Whether you choose luxury or budget accommodation you will be right beside the slopes as Big White is pretty much all ski in/ski out which is fantastic news for families and those who do not like taking the ski bus in the morning!  It is also just a 45 minute transfer from Kelowna airport which is one of the shortest transfer times on offer. Why not make your trip a twin centre and stay in Silver Star for part of your stay?

Big White Skiing and Snowboarding

Big White boasts over 2,765 acres of skiable terrain making it the second biggest mountain in British Columbia. When you open your piste map you will find 118 runs, 5 alpine bowls, 'TELUS Park' terrain park, the Mega Snow Coaster tubing park, a skating rink, snowmobile trails, and much more. Beginners will be happy in the dedicated nursery area in the village and will find plenty of lovely long easy runs to progress onto. Intermediates will find blue's and green's all over the hill making this a fantastic resort for families. The runs through the glades are also good fun and some of the easier black runs are worth a try if you are feeling confident. For the experts then the Cliff area offers a double black diamond run. There is also the glades and some mogul runs to stretch the legs. Snowboarders will find some good freeriding terrain and the Tellus terrain park to be good.

Snowshoe Sam's was voted the number 1 ski bar by Ski Canada magazine. Sam's has great pub atmosphere with a DJ and live bands. Don't miss the famous "Gunbarrel Coffee" show! There are plenty of restaurants to choose from for dining in the evening. Off the slopes there is ice skating, snowmobiling, tubing, dog sledding, sleigh rides and snowshoeing. A day trip to neighbouring Silver Star is also recommended.
